2021 Aus Indoor Champs postponed

by Aidan Davis on July 15, 2021

The 2021 Australian Indoor Championships event will be postponed until later in the year, due to the extended COVID-19-related greater-Sydney lockdown and numerous border restrictions impacting the event’s viability.

The event, which was scheduled to be staged at Tweed Heads Bowls Club next month, from August 16-19, will instead be held from Monday, December 6 to Thursday, December 9, with official practice occurring on Sunday, December 5.

“The decision to reschedule the event has been made with the best interests of the players at heart, with as many as 20 out of 64 competitors currently not being able to attend, while also wanting to mitigate any possibility of players being out of pocket for booked flights or accommodation,” Events and Competitions Manager Andrew Howie said.

New Australian Indoor Championships dates:
• Practice: Sunday, December 5, 2021
• Competition: Monday, December 6 – Thursday, December 9, 2021
