Aero Bowls National Ranking System

Learn more about the Aero Bowls National Ranking System and the benefits of registering your clubs tournament as an official rankings event. With so many tournaments being held at this time of year why not give your participants the added incentive of playing for ranking points and the chance to mix it with the country’s most elite at the top of the Aero Bowls National Rankings.

International superstars Natasha Scott and Ryan Bester took home an extra $3000 courtesy of Aero Bowls which was presented to the winners at the Bowls Australia Hall of Fame and Awards Night in October last year; this wouldn’t have been possible if the tournaments they had success in had not registered as a rankings events.

With just six months left in the second instalment of the Aero Bowls National Ranking System, now is a great time to register your tournament and have all the details of your event posted on the Bowls Australia website, a go-to place for players looking to enter events and accumulate some bonus points heading into the final ranking event of the year, the $250,000 Australian Open.

There are currently 16 tournaments registered for the remainder of the rankings year and that could more than double if clubs register their events ($3000

Registered events that will impact the National Rankings leaderboard in January are the Summerland Singles (Ballina), Energy Australia Classic Singles (Yallourn), Ladies Australia Day Pairs (Warmambool), Men’s Summer Fours (Western Creek ACT), Australia Day Fours (Raymond Terrace) and the Penguin Classic Pairs (Penguin TAS); with all six of these illustrious tournaments carrying tier 3 ranking points.

Tier Structure-

Tier 1 – Australian Open

Tier 2 – Australian Indoor and Australian Champion of Champions

Tier 3 – State Championships, State Champion of Champions and approved club events $12,000 and over.

Tier 4 – Approved club events $11,999 – $3,000

Broadbeach’s Ryan Bester and Raymond Terrace’s Natasha Scott are once again the players to catch having both finished 2015 as the front runners to be crowned Aero Bowls National Bowler of the Year for consecutive years.
