Willis said the composition of the team presented Australia with the best opportunity to exceed medal expectations and looked forward to witnessing his chargers in action on the Royal Leamington Spa greens in just 42 days time.

“Our entire Jackaroos squad has worked extremely hard to get to this point, as have our High Performance team of staff and national selectors, particularly through such a difficult time with uncertainty around travel and schedules throughout the COVID-19 pandemic,” Willis said.

“Selecting an Australian bowls team is never easy with such extensive depth in our talent pool, every player involved throughout the trial and selection process should be extremely proud of their efforts and we couldn’t be happier for those that have made the team in what is the biggest event in our sport for any athlete to compete in.

“Our recent Trans Tasman series at Club Mount Tamborine was a sneak peak at the immense talent they possess and I look forward to seeing more of that in Birmingham when they chase their dreams in the 2022 Commonwealth Games.”
