Bowls Australia call for Elected Director nominations
Applications are currently being sought by Bowls Australia (BA) from suitably qualified and eligible individuals who wish to be considered as Elected Board Directors.
Two Elected Board Director positions will be elected by delegates from each of the State and Territory Associations in November, with each elected for a term of three years.
The election of the Directors will take place at BA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
Furthermore, an additional Elected Board Director position will become available from November 10 as a casual vacancy, with the selected individual to hold office until the AGM in 2021, when they will become eligible to stand for re-election; this position will be filled by the Board from any expressions of interest submitted.
Recently elected President Bob Boorman said he encouraged suitable individuals to consider nominating for these positions and making a contribution to the sport nationally as a Board Director.
“In order to ensure BA has a really strong and diverse board to lead the sport and the organisation through these difficult times that we face during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s vitally important to communicate far and wide that there are Board Director positions available,” Boorman said.
“I’d encourage anyone that has the suitable qualifications, experience, knowledge and networks to consider contributing to the future direction of the sport in the capacity of a Board Director at the national governing body.”
Elected Directors are required to be affiliated members of a Bowling Club and nominations for the positions must be submitted to BA on the nomination form below, and include a curriculum vitae and a headshot photograph, by close of business on Monday, October 12, 2020.
Expressions of Interest for the impending Elected Director casual vacancy must be submitted to BA on the form below by close of business on Friday, October 16, 2020.
