BCiB Australian Jackaroo becomes a firefighter

by Bowls Australia on March 19, 2020

With much of the world currently shrouded in uncertainty, good news stories are needed now more than ever.

Enter BCiB Australian Jackaroo Ellen Ryan, who recently completed her journey to becoming a Retained Firefighter for Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW).

After a process that lasted several months and included interviews, medicals, physical testing and a strenuous training period, Ryan will be based at the 305 Goulburn Fire Station.

FRNSW Retained (on-call) Firefighters are a diverse group of men and women who balance other work, study and family commitments, but enjoy being part of a team and working with people and other emergency services.
