The chance to meet three current and former Australian representatives will be among the highlights when the 2nd BCiB Open Triples Tournament is held at Club Dubbo on September 17 and 18.

The $7000 prize-money tournament is open to triples teams of all men, all women, or a combination of both.

Already the event has attracted teams from across NSW and inter-state, including from Tweed Heads, Gulgong, Goodooga, Dora Creek, Narrandera, Millthorpe, Orange, Narromine, Coonamble, Cabramatta, Parkes Railway Rosehill, Nyngan, Trangie, Dubbo City, Dubbo Railway, Dubbo Macquarie and West Dubbo.

Former and current Australian representatives, including Australian coach Steve Glasson, Commonwealth Games singles gold medallist Kelvin Kerkow and world champion Karen Murphy, will all be on hand to stand in for various teams across the weekend.

The tournament will also raise funds for Orana Early Childhood Intervention (OECI), which supports more than 250 families across the region each year.

Local sporting identity Geoff Mann will be the MC on Saturday night, and Angus Barlow has volunteered his services as auctioneer for the sporting memorabilia and other great prizes on hand.

On the bowls side of things, there is $7000 up for grabs for the 42 teams (126 players) competing.

There will be six games of ten ends each, four on the Saturday and two on Sunday.

This format should even up the competition, with no team building up huge scores over their competition.
