Bowls for young and old in Wauchope

by Aidan Davis on November 22, 2018

Bowls is a great way of bonding and having fun too.

A great day was had by all on Saturday November 10 at the inaugural Hunters vs Ferals Challenge at Wauchope Bowling Club, with the Hunters coming out on top 102 – 100.

The best performers for the Hunters were Mark (Biscuits) Arndell, Dave Carney and nine-year-old newcomer Noah Langdon.

Best for the Ferals were Gary Rudge, Paul (Smiley) Ireland and Lester Thurgate.

It was a great effort by young Noah, who has shown a lot of promise in a short time, competing against bowlers who were many years his senior.

Noah only took up lawn bowling six weeks ago so he could spend some time with his uncle, accomplished bowler Mark Arndell.

The Hunters vs Ferals Challenge was Noah’s first competition, but definitely won’t be his last.

“I usually play for the Wauchope Blues and go to swimming club, but bowling is heaps of fun, and I won a meat tray,” he said.
