BowlsLink updates announced for November 2023
The next round of BowlsLink improvements are coming soon, with plenty of new and updated features for users.
Bowls Australia BowlsLink Manager Aaron Delaporte confirmed the next round of BowlsLink improvements with version 1.30 coming online on Monday, November 13.
In total, 26 separate developments have occurred with several key features that are sure to be welcomed by administrators and participants across all levels of the sport.
Significantly SMS verification notifications can now be used for login providing even more flexibility for those club administrators who are required to use two factor authentication which was part of the previous release adding an extra level of security to BowlsLink.
Major competition module changes will see custom ladders, automapping of finals and add-ons (sale of extra items) now available through all levels of the sport. The custom ladders now give the ultimate flexibility to a competition manager to sort by any means possible and display the ladder in any configuration imaginable. A line on the ladder can also be added so participants can easily see which teams, sides or players are in qualifying positions for finals.
A live scoring application has been added which gives anyone the opportunity to follow matches across a competition being live scored on one screen. This LIVE button will be evident in the upcoming Bowls Premier League competition. In addition a plugin for State bodies and Bowls Australia will now allow them to display multi-event matches on the same screen for large scale events like the Victorian Open or Australian Open.
Finally, Bowls Australia have shown their continued commitment to BowlsLink and supporting its use by the introduction of a dedicated resource website. Located at support.bowlslink.com.au the website will house all support materials for BowlsLink. It already features numerous articles and help videos with more to be added in the future. Users can search, browse by category or browse by state to gain further insights into how to effectively use BowlsLink.
