BPL Cup national finalists confirmed to compete at Moama

After months of qualifying at club, regional and state level, the teams set to compete at the 2021 BPL Cup National Finals have been confirmed.

Thirteen sides will battle it out at the Moama Bowling Club later this month in the fifth edition of the BPL Cup national finals.

The 2021 BPL Cup qualification process began early last year, with teams playing off in preliminary rounds before moving on to regional qualifiers.

From there, the best teams advanced through to state finals, with the victors to meet at Moama.

The finals were originally slated to take place at Club Pine Rivers in November, but were pushed back due to ongoing COVID complications.

The BPL Cup National Finals will take place at Moama from February 23-25, with the final to be broadcast live on Fox Sports and Kayo at 1pm on February 25.

Of the 13 teams, three will feature from both NSW and Victoria, two each from Queensland and South Australia, with one team representing Tasmania, ACT and NT respectively.

2021 BPL Cup National Finalists

Unfortunately due to border restrictions, Western Australia’s three qualifying teams once again miss out on the national finals, but can look forward to competing at the 2022 national finals at Club Pine Rivers in November this year.

Katherine’s qualification makes them the first non-Darwin team to have qualified for a BPL Cup National Finals from the Northern Territory, while West Lakes trio Craig Mills, TJ Saunders and Nathan Black will be vying to become the first back-to-back BPL Cup champions, after their memorable win at Moama last year.

Despite the 2021 BPL Cup yet to come to a close, clubs already have the opportunity to get involved in the 2022 instalment of the event.

Clubs who wish to host a BPL Cup preliminary round have until April 30 to submit and expression of interest form here.

A number of rounds have already been confirmed, with interested teams able to find a qualifying venue and enter a team here.
