Chris Dudman named Tasmania Pathways Coach

In another boost for Bowls in the Apple Isle, long-time Tasmanian state representative Chris Dudman has been appointed as the Pathways Coach for Tasmania.

Following on from similar state pathways coaching appointments made in October last year, Dudman’s primary responsibility will be to identify athletes from the region that are ready to join the BCiB Jackaroos Pathways Squad, in an effort to progress into the feeder Emerging Jackaroos team and beyond.

Dudman has enjoyed a successful career representing his state for 18 years, claiming eight state titles, playing 148 tests and finishing as high as second place in the Australian Sides Championships.

Since turning his attention to coaching, Dudman has led the Tasmanian Junior Squad and has been the Coach, Manager and Selector for the State Senior Team.

In his current position as the State Women’s Coach, he helped guide the team to its best ever performance at the Sides Championships in 2019.

The position marks the beginning of an exciting program in the state, and Dudman looks forward to the opportunity to seek out some of the state’s most exciting prospects and to help them develop as part of the Jackaroos program.

“I would like to thank Bowls Australia and Bowls Tasmania for the opportunity, and I look forward to getting to work and assisting the state’s emerging talent into the Jackaroos Pathways Program.” Dudman said.

Bowls Australia would like to thank Bowls Tasmania for their investment in co-funding this position, while also acknowledging the role played by the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in providing funding through the Pathways Program for this and other positions.
