Facebook Focus with Bec Van Asch

Get to know Australian Jackaroo Rebecca Van Asch a little better with Bowls Australia’s Q & A next week on our Facebook page. Bowls Australia has opened the doors for the general public to get to know your Australian Jackaroos a little better by initiating an online Q & A on our Facebook page.

On February 3 at 6pm AEDST Tasmania’s only World Champion Rebecca Van Asch will spend an hour responding to your questions on Facebook Focus, engaging with her fans and offering expert tips on how to improve your game.

Van Asch was part of the record breaking Australian World Bowls team in Adelaide 2012 where she skipped the pairs with Kelsey Cottrell to claim Australia’s first gold medal of the championships; Australia then went on to win a further four gold and two silver medals.

Van Asch has since spent three years on the sidelines, consequently meaning that she has been stuck on 99 games for Australia; however, after plenty of hard work, Van Asch has regained her position back in the Australian Jackaroos side and will play her milestone 100th game in the green and gold against New Zealand at the Trans-Tasman in March.

Van Asch’s career away from the greens has recently seen her promoted to CEO of Bowls Tasmania having worked her way up through the ranks by chairing her clubs committee for a number of years and working in administration for Bowls Tasmania.

Van Asch has plenty of experience in bowls and is a great ambassador for other young female bowlers.

Lock February 3 at 6pm AEDST into your calendars and get your questions ready for Rebecca Van Asch.
