GREEN and GOLD both in the hunt
Australia’s GREEN and GOLD teams remain in the hunt at the 2017 Gold Coast Multi-Nations, with five teams placed within the top two ladder spots. Five out of eight Australian teams sit within the top two positions of the four disciplines contested to date at the 2017 Gold Coast Multi-Nations.
The GREEN and GOLD teams, which boast two full Australian contingents in each gender, relinquished their lead somewhat this round through, with just the one team situated on top of the table after the three sessions.
The GREEN men’s team of Wayne Ruediger, Corey Wedlock and Aron Sherriff headlines the triples’ standings, with a 22 shot buffer over New Zealand after comfortably defeating Malaysia, 27-7 in the third round.
Brett Wilkie and Aaron Wilson continued the GOLD men’s pairs untarnished run, defeating Hong Kong China 15-12, but the team still trails New Zealand by 12 shots on the ladder despite their effort.
The highest ranked women’s singles and fours teams remain one game behind the top of the pack.
GREEN team’s Natasha Scott bounced back from her round two singles loss to her Jackaroo teammate, with a clinical 21-12 victory against Malaysia, but New Zealand has widened the gap at the top, with the margin now one-game and 32 shots.
Fellow GREEN combatants Chloe Stewart, Kristina Krstic, Carla Krizanic and Rebecca Van Asch are second placed in the women’s fours, one game behind Canada but better on shot differential, after a 15-10 win against Hong Kong China this afternoon.
