Green and Gold firm for gold, silver and bronze
Australia’s GREEN and GOLD teams look likely to contest more than a few gold/silver and bronze medal matches from the opening four disciplines of the 2017 Gold Coast Multi-Nations, but will need to finish the job tomorrow. Australia is well placed at the halfway mark of the opening four disciplines at the 2017 Gold Coast Multi-Nations.
Seven out of eight teams are within third place or higher, with the eighth just 1 shot shy.
As it stands after the first day, Australia’s GREEN or GOLD teams headlines one discipline, is second in a further two, and third placed in additional four disciplines.
There’s still a further three rounds tomorrow, with the top two teams progressing directly to the gold/silver decider, while third and fourth placed finishers advance to a bronze medal playoff.
Leading the way is the men’s triples GREEN team of Wayne Ruediger, Corey Wedlock and Aron Sherriff are 19 shots clear of New Zealand on top of the table.
The men’s pairs GOLD team, which has seen Brett Wilkie and Aaron Teys alternate alongside Aaron Wilson, is 8 shots behind the Kiwis.
The women’s fours GOLD team and GREEN team are only separated 1.79% shot percentage, in second and third spot respectively, one game shy of Canada.
The other five teams are still well and truly in with a chance of progressing to the golden decider, despite currently being situated in the bronze medal playoff spots.
