2014 semi-finalist, Kristy Thatcher, has set up an enthralling encounter against Bowls Premier League star Tiffany Brodie after the two progressed to the second stage with straight sets victories.

Thatcher accounted for Invermay’s Kim Saunders 8-5, 9-4, while Brodie upstaged Raymond Terrace’s Briana Graham 9-3, 9-6 in this afternoon’s fourth session of the first round.

Their second round encounter is set to be staged at 10am tomorrow morning.

The fifth session is currently underway at Tweed Heads, while a final session will be staged from 6pm, involving the remaining two first round matches and four round two rubbers.
