Jackaroos finish tour on even note

The Right at Home Jackaroos and Para-Jackaroos have finished the UK Tour in even fashion following the final day of the Tri-Nations with Scotland and Ireland at Royal Leamington Spa overnight.

The Australian Green and Gold teams performed well on the concluding day of competition, with the Jackaroos splitting honours with their counterparts, winning eight of their 16 matches, while the Para-Jackaroos went just under the ledger at three from eight against their Scottish opponents.

The opening session was prosperous for Australia Gold, who claimed a 3-1 win over Scotland overall, while the green team fell 1-3 to Ireland from the four matchups.

The second session saw even contests for both squads, with Green amassing an even number of wins with the Scottish team, and Gold doing the same with the Irish.

The Para-Jackaroos split their opening session with Scotland, claiming two wins from the opening four encounters of the day, before falling just shy of the same result in the second block, losing three and winning one.

It was a milestone day for Chris Flavel, who was able to notch up his 50th international cap on day three of the competition.

Flavel would mark the occasion with a win, teaming with Damien Delgado in the opening session.

The Australian team’s next outing will be at the Trans Tasman from June 4-6, 2022, at Club Tamborine in Queensland.
