Krizanic and Schraner’s paths to world glory announced
The path to a world title has been laid out for 2021 Australian Champion of Champion conquerors Carla Krizanic and Lee Schraner as they prepare for the 2022 World Champion of Champions to commence in Naenae, NZ this week.
Krizanic, who recently retired from international duties, will don the green and gold once again as she searches for her maiden title at the event while Schraner is the defending champion having won the most recent edition in 2019 with the tournament cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The duo will both kickstart their campaigns on Saturday with Krizanic’s first encounter against Diana Viljoen of Namibia and Schraner against Canada’s Michael Leong.
Should the pair progress out of the pool stages, they will play in a knockout semi final in a bid to reach the decider.
Bowls New Zealand has indicated there will be live coverage of the final two days on the Bowls New Zealand YouTube channel.
