Loe’s bowls campaign ends on a silver lining

Peter Loe is not light on for silver, as Adam Bourke reports for the Bendigo Advertiser.
The former Bendigo East and Strathfieldsaye bowler added a seventh Australian Sides Championship silver medal to his trophy cabinet yesterday.
“It’s frustrating because we weren’t far away this week,’’ Loe said. “We were only one bowl away in two games and we let it slip.”
Loe did have a reason to smile yesterday with the rink he played with – Brett Foley, Todd Simmons and skipper Graeme Archer  – winning the title of best overall rink.
“It’s nice to come away with something,’’ Loe, who plays pennant bowls for Essendon, said.
“Our team played together well. It was a great experience to play alongside Graeme (Archer), who has played for Scotland.
“Individually, I didn’t play my best this series, but I was okay.”
The best overall women’s rink was won by the New South Wales team of Sarah Boddington, Beth Quinlan, Julie Keegan and skipper Kelsey Cottrell.
