National Careers Week

by Bowls Australia on May 18, 2020

This week is National Careers Week, with thanks to the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA).

Now in its second year, the week celebrates careers, development and practitioners, and promotes the economic, social and personal benefits of career development.

This year, it is happening entirely online.

National Careers Week will run from Monday 18 May to Sunday 24 May 2020, and will share free resources and online events for career practitioners, teachers, parents, and job seekers.

Megan Fritsch, Bowls Australia (BA) Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement (AW&E) Manager, also holds the voluntary role of CICA President and spoke of the importance for the community to have access to high-quality career development services, including athletes.

“High quality career development services can positively impact on individual transitions, motivation and productivity by assisting individuals to strengthen self-awareness and make effective career decisions,” she said.

“For athletes, working with a qualified career development practitioner alongside their sporting career enables them to explore their identity outside of the game, learn and develop skills to help them explore their own dual-career journey, as well as prepare and plan for when they decide to transition to a post-sport career.”

To take advantage of the free resources available, head to www.careersweek.com.au, hit the ‘Events’ tab and register for the events you wish to get involved in.

Speakers from across the world will be hosting webinars discussing topics helping Australians find the best pathway into their career.

In addition to all the resources available at the National Careers Week website, CICA will be hosting a number of FREE online workshops including:
