National Rankings – April 2023
As the race for the number one spot edges towards its climax at the 2023 Australian Open, both Kelsey Cottrell and Aron Sherriff have retained their place on top following April’s National Rankings Update.
For the first time since July 2022, Cottrell’s points advantage to second is under 200 with Victoria’s Triss Doolan closing the gap to 191 following a sensational Victorian Open where she progressed to the point end in many disciplines.
Following Doolan is Cassandra Millerick, who drops one place to third despite increasing her tally throughout the month.
Also dropping one place are Dawn Hayman in fourth and Kim Saunders in fifth.
However in the men’s rankings, Sherriff’s battle with Right at Home Jackaroos teammate Corey Wedlock is heating up after the latter’s solid month that included a title at the Adelaide Masters.
Wedlock’s solid month cut the margin to Sherriff from 58 points to just 22, with the Queenslander accruing some of his own to ensure his place atop the mountain.
Queensland’s Kane Nelson has jumped back inside the top five after a consistent month, seeing him end April in third place, while Victoria’s Thor Shannon sits a solitary point behind in fourth.
Rounding out the quintet is Victorian Colin Veenendaal.
