Raising money to cure juvenile diabetes

The Weston Creek Labor Club continues to support JDRF with their annual Bowls Day raising much needed funds for the organisation. The Weston Creek Labor Club have held their third annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Bowls Day last Friday raising a huge $22,000 on the day for a great cause. 

144 participants representing a wide range of different corporate companies tested their bowling skills, some for the first time, and dug deep into their pockets throughout the day all for this great cause. 

JDRF is the leading global organisation funding type one diabetes (T1D) research and was the 2014 Australian Charity of the Year in the Australian Charity Awards. 

JDRF Australia is built on a grassroots model of people connecting in their local communities, collaborating regionally for efficiency and broader fundraising impact, and uniting on an international stage to pool resources, passion and energy. 

Their mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent and treat T1D and its complications.

The Weston Creek Labor Club, in conjunction with the Weston Creek Bowling Club located in the nation’s capital, have now raised close to $70,000 for this worthy organisation and will continue to support this leading charity find a cure for T1D in children.
