An initiative by the Australian Sports Commission, Woonona has experienced great success early on with the program so much so that one of their latest products, Woonona Public School, decided to host the school Christmas Party for Grades 3-5 at the club.
The club hosted a record 230 children in late December last year for hours of lawn bowling fun, with many students approaching Regional Bowls Manager James Berriman expressing an interest to join the new bowls academy for the northern suburbs of Wollongong.

The club has always been successful at producing some of New South Wales’ best bowlers and it appears their ground will remain fertile well into the future having bedded themselves into local schools in the area.

After a monumental year of change in 2017 becoming a social hub for the sport in the local community, Woonona will be looking to achieve bigger and better things in 2018.
