The Australian Jackaroos enjoyed seven wins from eight starts to commence proceedings in the four new disciplines at the 2017 Gold Coast Multi-Nations this morning.

The Jackaroos picked up where they left, after a sublime conclusion to the initial four disciplines last night saw them earn a berth in a tonne of gold, silver and bronze medal deciders, when the disciplines switched to men’s singles and fours, and women’s pairs and triples.

The host-nation commenced their seven preliminary rounds by securing the 3 points on offer in every contest, except for the women’s pairs GOLD team, which was upstaged by Malaysia 15-16 after dropping 5 shots on the last end.

Australia’s GREEN team comfortably defeated Hong Kong China in all contests.

There’s sure to be a few more losses incurred in the next round though, potentially as many as half the rubbers, with Australia’s GOLD and GREEN teams pitted against each other.

The para-sport component also joins the fray again in the next session at Broadbeach, competing in their third round of the mixed pairs and open triples.

The ladder after the first round can be viewed below.
