The Nationals: Vics take first Multi-Disability honours up for grabs

by Lachlan Williams on October 1, 2022

The first of eight Multi-Disability championships has gone the way of Victoria, after a strong performance in the Open Triples.

Josh Thornton, Josh Barry & Lucas Protopapas came away with gold after taking care of Tasmania by seven shots in the final.

The trio dropped their final sectional match yesterday afternoon, but regrouped for knockout play today, doing so in style.

The Victorians took out their quarter final by 13 shots, before a five-shot win in the semi finals to face off against Tasmania.

The ACT claimed bronze to round out the first of the Multi-Disability medallists.

Play continues at Mermaid Beach on Sunday, with men’s pairs B5/6, men’s pairs B7/8, women’s singles B5/6 and women’s singles B7/8 getting under way with sectional play all day.
