The Aero Bowls Male and Female Bowler of the Year will be announced at the completion of the Australian Open Singles finals with the number one ranked bowlers receiving a $3,000 bonus courtesy of Aero Bowls. As we creep closer and closer to the Australian Open we are also nearing the announcement of Australia’s number one Male and Female Bowler of the Year as the 2014-15 Aero Bowls national rankings concludes after the Australian Open singles finals.

St Johns Park’s David Holt and Raymond Terrace’s Natasha Scott are still leading the charge to be crowned Australia’s best; however with four months remaining in the inaugural race, the top prize of $3,000 courtesy of Aero Bowls is still anyone’s.

Chargers from the west have climbed into the top 20 after the conclusion of the Western Australian State Championships and the tier 2 Doubleview Pairs ranked event all happening last month.

Australian Champion of Champion singles winner Noelene Abe continued to add to her already impressive resume with victory over Kristina Krstic in the State Singles earning Abe 43.2 points and 21.6 points for her win in the State Fours, skyrocketing WA’s best to 11th on the leader board.

Solargain Perth Suns star Tom Mitchell has showed why he deserves his APL spot adding a second state singles title to his name, and also a runner-up performance in the State Champion of Champion Singles.

Tom Mitchell sits equal 16th on the leader board, and interestingly he share that spot with his brother Matthew Mitchell on 79.2 points.

Matthew earned 36 points for winning the Doubleview Master Pairs, defeating his brother Tom in the final who added 24 points to his total.

Mathew was also a semi-finalist in the Tweed Prestige Open Mixed Singles and made the last 16 of the Australian Indoor.

There have now been 87 events completed with 551 female and 930 male bowlers all accumulating ranking points.

The highest amount of points will be on offer at the prestigious Australian Open that carries a huge $225,000 total prize pool.
