Three new modules added to BowlsLink training on BowlsLearn

by Lachlan Williams on September 18, 2023

Three new training modules have recently been added to BowlsLearn, Bowls Australia’s self-paced learning platform under the BowlsLink section.

Each of these is available for free for any registered member of a bowls club, although they are specifically targeted to club administrators who use BowlsLink.

Club Information

The Club Information training module will provide club secretaries or managers with the skills to keep their club information up to date in BowlsLink. This has been an under-utilized area to date but is important as the information provided here links to the Find A Club tool available on the Bowls Australia and State websites on the top right of each page. The Find A Club area is often used by people visiting and looking to utilise club facilities while they are in the local area, as such having relevant and up to date information is vital for a club.

Club Websites

One of the most popular services available through BowlsLink is the ability for a club to have a fully functioning website with domain completely FREE. The Club Websites learning module shows how a club can sign up for a website with further lessons on adding content in a manner which fits with your clubs’ values and purpose. Step by step instructions are provided so that even the least skilled computer users can build and design a fully functioning club website.

Live Scoring

As bowls advances with technology the future may just be Live Scoring. This very short and succinct training course shows how the Live Scoring function can be added to any competition created in BowlsLink and how it can be performed through the BowlsLink Live Scoring App. There are two ways to Live Score with Marker scoring and Competitor Scoring both covered in this training module.
