Craig Donaldson is Bowls Australia’s newly appointed staff member The appointment of Craig Donaldson as Regional Bowls Manager in North East NSW will be a huge boost to the 107 bowling clubs he will service from Kingscliff to Port Macquarie.

Donaldson, who has joined the Park Beach Bowling Club in Coffs Harbour has been a bowler for 20 years and spent the last 10 years of his professional career working in business management.

Donaldson was formally a member of powerhouse Sydney club Taren Point and also played Premier League at Moonee Ponds in Melbourne.

Craig Donaldson was named NSW Male Bowler of the Year in 2014 after claiming the NSW State Triples title.

The opportunity to work within the bowls industry was a major factor for Donaldson who felt it was time to combine his love of the sport with his advanced business knowledge.

For many, if not all of the Regional Bowls Managers, working in this particular sport development role, centres on their love of the sport and wanting to see bowling clubs and participation grow around the country.

Donaldson has hit the ground running, already assisting bowling clubs with government grant applications and working on an event that brings Stockland retirement village residents down to their nearest bowling clubs in Port Macquarie.

Another of Donaldson’s high priorities is to work with bowling clubs to increase social participation and turn those barefoot bowlers into full-time bowling members.
