Vale Col Crossingham

by Bowls Australia on October 25, 2021

Bowls Australia (BA) was saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Col Crossingham over the weekend.

Crossingham was not only an incredibly enthusiastic bowler and supporter of bowls, but one of the sport’s great administrators.

Across many years, Crossingham was integral to the coordination of the sport in one of the largest playing zones in Australia.

Col filled many roles within Zone 5 in NSW and will be fondly remembered for his tireless work on the match committee, for his excellent communication and as a strong supporter of junior bowls, apart from many other roles.

Col was also known for being a champion of the sport’s membership, website and competition management platform, BowlsLink, and was always willing to share his experience in any area with anyone that asked.

Additionally, Crossingham was willing to be involved in other important committees including the Bowls NSW Match Committee and the National Governance Reform Working Group.

Apart from being a wonderful administrator, Col was such a phenomenal fan of the sport. He and Rhonda would often travel around the country to be found rinkside at many state and national events cheering on the bowlers.

Col was an absolute gentleman and he will be missed around the greens.

Bowls Australia expresses its deepest condolences and sympathies to Rhonda, his family, friends and club mates.
