Youngsters making their mark as Sherriff and Scott again sit atop the National Player Rankings

Australian Jackaroos Aron Sherriff and Natasha Scott again sit atop the National Player Rankings at the end of November as young guns Davis and Christie charge into the top 30. Australian Jackaroos Aron Sherriff and Natasha Scott again sit atop the National Player Rankings at the end of November, with the new rolling rankings system playing in Sherriff’s favour as second placed Chris Herden’s swag of points from last year’s NSW Champion of Champions event lapsed this month.

As a result, Herden falls from second to fourth, with consistent Warilla superstar Jeremy Henry and Tasmanian Lee Schraner, fresh from a fruitful Victorian Open in numerous disciplines, sitting second and third respectively ahead of Herden.

Dubbo Railway’s young superstar Jono Davis has moved to 15th on the National Player Rankings courtesy of his stunning victory in the NSW Champion of Champions Singles event last week – he joins Club Helensvale’s young gun Jayden Christie (23rd) as the only junior bowlers in the top 30 after Christie teamed up with veteran Jackaroo Mark Casey to win the Queensland Champion of Champions Pairs last month.

After losing her number one crown last month to Victoria’s Carla Krizanic, Natasha Scott has regained the number one spot she has held almost exclusively since the introduction of the National Player Rankings.
It was a case of almost but not quite for Krizanic, who needed to compile enough points at the Victorian Open to match her performance from 12 months ago at the same event to maintain her points tally.

Krizanic finished runner up in the Triples and made the quarter finals in the Singles, but first and second round knockout losses in the Mixed Pairs and Women’s Pairs proved the difference as her overall tally fell by over 40 points. Krizanic and Scott will ironically team up in both the Women’s Triples and Fours at the 2016 World Championships, beginning tomorrow in Christchurch!

It was another star from the Victorian Open, Canadian international and Clayton Bowling Club’s Kelly McKerihen, who was the big mover in the women’s field, jumping 30 spots to now sit seventh courtesy of the Women’s Singles title and consistent performances in other disciplines.
