2022 BPL Cup National Finals: Final four locked in

by Lachlan Williams on November 8, 2022

After months of qualifying, and fierce sectional play at Club Pine Rivers, four teams remain in the hunt for the 2022 BPL Cup title.

Sectional play at the BPL Cup National Finals concluded on Tuesday, with the four section winners booking their place in Wednesday’s semi finals.

Tasmania’s Trevallyn exited section one with an unblemished record, collecting four wins from as many matches to take out their section.

NSW team Armidale City advanced to the knockout phase by nearly the barest of margins, with just one set point separating them and Airlie Beach.

The two sides battled it out in the penultimate round of the day, with Armidale City claiming an ultimately crucial straight set victory.

Victoria’s Highton managed their way out of sectional play with a little more breathing room, winning three games to advance a game clear of their nearest competitors.

Similarly to Trevallyn, Canberra topped their group with an unbeaten record to keep their hopes of a national title alive.

Highton will take on Trevallyn, while Armidale City will meet Canberra in the semi finals to take place at 2.30pm on Wednesday.

The winners of those games will go on to face in the final at 1pm on Thursday, with the match broadcast live on Kayo and Fox Sports.
