Cruiseabout will become the exclusive retail travel agency for Bowls Australia under a two-year agreement announced today.

The partnership will be promoted on The Bowls Show from this Sunday on SBS (1:00pm AEST), with National Coach Steve Glasson fronting segments about the cruising experience and upcoming dedicated bowls cruises over the next four episodes.

In addition to the television exposure, Cruiseabout will receive entitlements at the $100,000 Bowls Premier League and $250,000 Australian Open annually as well as the Bowls Australia Hall of Fame and Awards Night.

Cruiseabout will also gain recognition as an Official Supporter of the Australian Jackaroos, and will offer family and supporter travel and accommodation packages to nominated event destinations.

The first dedicated bowls cruise, the 7-night Beaches, Bowls and the Barrier Reef, will depart Brisbane on September 24 for Airlie Beach, Yorkers Knob, Port Douglas, Willis Island before returning to Brisbane. Travelling aboard P&O’s Pacific Dawn, the journey includes matches of bowls scheduled throughout, return airfares and a special visit by Australian Jackaroos Captain Lynsey Clarke at the Airlie Beach stopover.

Bowls members will also be able to take advantages of travel packages to international bowls events, with an upcoming experience encompassing a cruise to New Zealand on board the Emerald Princess to watch the Bowls Premier League in February 2017 already planned.

Cruiseabout General Manager Jarrod Pask said the partnership was an exciting one.

“We are thrilled to be aligning ourselves with such a respected brand as Bowls Australia as their exclusive retail travel agency,’’ Mr Pask said.

“We are looking forward to an exciting and mutually beneficial relationship together providing memorable cruise experiences for bowls lovers and expanding our presence in this important market,’’ he said.

Bowls Australia CEO Neil Dalrymple echoed those sentiments, noting that bowls members will reap the benefits of this partnership.

“Bowls Australia is delighted to be partnering with Cruiseabout as our exclusive retail travel agency for the next two years. Throughout the past few years I have spoken to countless bowlers who thoroughly enjoy the experience of cruising, so this partnership is a great fit for our sport.“ Mr Dalrymple said.

“From what we have already seen, Cruiseabout have already been extremely creative in their offerings to bowls members and we look forward to this continuing throughout the term of the relationship.” Mr Dalrymple said.
