Henselite has been unveiled as Bowls Australia’s preferred bowls manufacturer after inking a new partnership with the sport’s national body.

Henselite boasts an illustrious history, having manufactured bowls in Melbourne for more than 100 years, and became synonymous with the sport when they first invented the plastic bowl in 1930 as a modern alternative to the traditional wood and rubber variants.

The relationship will ensure Henselite have a prominent presence at the sport’s biggest events, including this month’s BPL16 and the annual $250,000 prize-money Australian Open, across digital products and broadcast programs like The Bowls Show, and extend to a commitment to grow the sport at a grassroots level.

Bowls Australia CEO Neil Dalrymple said the organisation was pleased to form a partnership with a trusted name in the sport of bowls.

“Henselite are a renowned and incredibly well-regarded brand, who have demonstrated a real desire to grow the sport of bowls, which is absolutely aligned to the strategic direction of Bowls Australia as the national governing body,” Dalrymple said.

“Bowls Australia looks forward to a long and rewarding partnership with Henselite, aligned with our strategic vision of “connecting more people to bowls – in more ways – more often.”

Henselite Chairman Ian Paterson said he shared Bowls Australia’s vision for growth and was passionate about getting more people playing bowls.

“Henselite has been in integral part of the Bowls community in Australia for over 100 years,” Paterson said.

“Our passion and purpose is to develop bowls and products to allow every bowler to be their best, whether they play socially or at an elite level; we want to see more players taking up the game, and more clubs growing and thriving.

“We are very proud to enter this partnership with Bowls Australia and look forward to working with them in this next exciting phase for the growth of the sport.”

The partnership between Bowls Australia and Henselite will be on full display at the BPL16 event from November 7-11.
