Mixed Pairs disciplined added to annual Australian Championships
For the first time in the event’s current format, a Mixed Pairs discipline will be added to the annual Australian Championships, effective from this year.
The added discipline will be included on the final day of this year’s event, which commences on Monday, December 2 to Friday, December 6 from Club Sapphire, Merimbula, NSW.
Qualification for the Mixed Pairs will take on the same state-based process as all other disciplines in the event, with the exception of Tasmania, who Bowls Australia (BA) has provided special exemption to select their Mixed Pairs representatives given the state does not currently hold a Mixed Pairs competition but intends to do so from 2020 onwards.
The magnificent Club Sapphire will again be the host venue for this year’s Australian Championships, having hosted the event the past two years.
BA will live-stream the final two days of this year’s event, including Singles and Mixed Pairs action.
