National Selection Panel bolstered by NSW Chair

by Aidan Davis on June 4, 2022

Bowls Australia (BA) has confirmed the names of the six-strong National Selection Panel entrusted to help shape the nation’s success on the world stage.

NSW Chairman of Selectors Ken Paulsen has been appointed to national duties by BA’s Board, and as such, will relinquish his position on the state committee, having been at the helm since 2020.

Paulsen, from Port City, bolsters the panel that identifies and determines the sport’s high-performance squads, including the Right at Home Australian Jackaroos, Emerging Jackaroos, Para Jackaroos, Over-60s Jackaroos and Pathways squads, and selects the athletes for international competition.

Incumbent selectors Dave Stockham, from South Australia, and Therese Hastings, from Western Australia, and National Assistant Coach Karen Murphy will continue in their roles for a further two years after being re-appointed by BA’s Board, while National Coach Gary Willis also remains by virtue of his position.

BA Chief Executive Officer Neil Dalrymple also remains as the non-voting Chair of the panel, with the term of all appointments being until Friday, May 1, 2024.

The national selection panel commence their duties almost immediately, with the Australian Jackaroos set for international competition this weekend against New Zealand in the fiercely contested Trans Tasman Test Series.

The Trans Tasman will be staged at Queensland’s Club Tamborine from June 4-6, with a match from each session of every test to be live-streamed via Rinkside Live on facebook.com/BowlsAustralia.

BA congratulates Paulsen and all incumbent selectors on their appointments.
