New online Rink Booker system available to clubs

Bowls Australia (BA) has today launched Rink Booker, a new online rink booking system to allow clubs to manage player numbers according to their relevant COVID-19 restrictions.

Rink Booker is one component of BA’s COVID-19: Return to Bowls Plan which will give clubs the ability to book certain amounts of people per green at specific times.

The booking system is available at no cost to any club and has been integrated into the current BowlsLink club websites.

The development of Rink Booker originates as a result of requests from clubs looking for such a system.

Available through BowlsLink’s club website feature, more than 500 clubs around Australia will currently have access to the system.

Clubs can apply for a BowlsLink website by clicking here.

The added function to the website will take less than 30 minutes for a club administrator to set up details such as rink numbers and times available for bookings.

“This is an exciting development for clubs as part of Bowls Australia’s Return to Bowls Plan.  While a handful of clubs may already have an online system like this in place, we are excited to offer Rink Booker to those clubs that do not currently have this functionality,” BA Participation and Programs General Manager Chris Wallace said.

“We are confident that this will be another benefit of clubs using the BowlsLink system and one more way that will make the role of a club administrator easier”.

Rink Booker is easy to use and once bowlers make their bookings, they are sent a confirmation email and a calendar becomes viewable to club administrators to show them what rinks have been booked at any one time.

A user guide to enable the set up of Rink Booker can be found by clicking here.

Clubs who have a website should fill in the domain name as RinkBooker.

With some further development over the course of the coming months, Rink Booker will be updated to include options for social and barefoot bowls bookings.
