Natasha Scott has set up a tantalizing Australian Indoor Championship final with fellow Australian Jackaroo Rebecca Van Asch after a stunning performance to down New South Wales youngster Samantha Noronha.

Scott, arguably in the form of her life, was challenged in the early stages of her semi-final; however the harder the task seemed, the stronger the Australian Jackaroo performed.

Samantha Noronha, the 20 year old from Merrylands, could not have asked for a better start jumping out to a five nil lead after three ends; however that lead quickly came unstuck when the Australian Open Singles Champion bounced back with a full count on the fourth end.

Australia’s number one ranked bowler asked all the questions of her younger opponent continually applying the pressure in the later stages of the first set and despite trailing Noronha by three going into the deciding end, there was a feeling among spectators Scott was not out of it yet.

The last end was a master class from the experienced Australian representative, trailing the jack for three to hold a draw with her third bowl, Noronha called upon her twin sister Natalie for advice before playing her last bowl, and after missing her target, Scott held her nerve to draw the fourth shot to win the first set by one.

Scott took full advantage of her opponent’s disappointment from the opening set and stormed out of the blocks with a score of four, three and two to open her account in the second set.

It was now a huge mountain to climb for the NSW/ACT NTC Squad member to chase down the World Triples Champion who was now on a rampage.

Scott booked her place in a maiden Australian Indoor Championship final winning the semi-final 9-8, 15-4.
Rebecca Van Asch awaited the winner of Scott and Noronha after producing a near perfect semi-final match against St Johns Park’s Dawn Hayman earlier today.

Van Asch and Scott will join forces in the green and gold at the World Championships later in the year but will do battle in a an epic final here on the world famous Tweed Heads indoor.

The women’s final will commence at 11am tomorrow after the second of the men’s semi-finals between 17 year old Curtis Hanley and Australian singles representative Aron Sherriff has been decided.

Defending champion Jeremy Henry downed Barrie Lester in an entertaining semi-final and is now just one game away from joining an illustrious list of multiple Australian Indoor Champions.

Both semi-finals and finals will be broadcast on The Bowls Show on SBS, beginning on September 4 for four weeks.
