Vacancy: Western Australian National Training Centre Coach

Bowls Australia has commenced its search for the WA based National Training Centre Coach Reporting to the national coach, the national training centre coach (WA) will play a key role in the preparation of identified squad members to achieve international success. The NTC coach will focus on the daily training environment for the Australian under 18, Australian emerging and NTC squad members.
 
In addition, the NTC coach will be a key link in communicating the national coach’s philosophy and vision for the 2014 Commonwealth Games and 2016 World Championships to coaches and selectors in WA to achieve international success. As a result, forming and building relationships and assisting with the developing programs with  Bowls WA and the Western Australian Institute of Sport coaches, selectors and staff will be a crucial aspect to this role.
 
Key selection criteria
 
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
 

Ability to case manage athletes to achieve on green success;
Ability to provide technical coaching advice to individual athletes;
Experience in creating and developing training programs;
Ability to communicate a shared vision to a wider group;
Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders;
Experience as a bowls coach/player at state, national or international level.

Unique criteria
The successful applicant must be:

Prepared to travel interstate/intrastate; work weekends and non-traditional hours as required.

Athlete liaison outside of office hours on occasion may be required.
Attendance at Australian Sides Championships and nominated state events.
Attend Australian squad camps, international events as directed.
Attend Bowls WA pathway events as directed.

This position is a part time (0.4) contract position through to December 31, 2014. Continuation of this position will be dependent on ASC funding.
